Nice park on the outskirts, lots of peace and quiet as there are fewer walkers on the way. Tall trees, surrounded by fields and meadows.

Service quick, cool, normal. Card usual. A little misleading. Mushrooms suitable for the season, fresh, tasty. Schnitzel, pounded and deep fried, a matter of taste. Portions were big. Vegetable selection was small. Before starting, there were cold, thin baguette slices with 2 dips, a fat curry dip, a quark garlic dip, couldn't convince me at all. They tried hard and put more emphasis on quantity than quality.

A really nice park for walking and relaxing. You meet nice people there and everything is clean. Children's playground and dog run facility are also available. Even parties are celebrated there because the large meadows invite you to do so. Always happy there, especially with dog and child

Since the homepage says that there is hot food until 9 p.m. and is online, the kitchen is open, we drove from Castrop-Rauxel to the Volksgarten. To our surprise the kitchen was closed and we were told to go for an hour or eat cake. It can not be that difficult to design the website so that a longer break in the kitchen is mentioned there. So the hungry company has gone home and will never again go to the crowd of people's gardens

that was really good in the past. But that iost past - unfortunately. The staff seems completely overwhelmed (at the next table 3 ladies and the waiter runs for each individually back and forth), inside there are people, outside are waiting guests. Salad dressing is cheap from the supermarket (does not even have to be chilled), the food is just average ...

No requirement within the opening times! The landlord had better things to do! Saturday around 12:00 p.m., for heaven's sake, guests are not to be expected. Well, if you don't need it ...

Were there for the Schnitzel-Day (always on thursday). Good food, good prices. The portions are huge.

Rooms clean and tidy, nice looking hotel. Towels a bit hard and only couple of small bottles of sparkling water for 4 to share over two days and not restocked. Owner and lady serving dinner at night generally attempted to be friendly but others pretty much seemed to be uninterested if from the UK and like us with no real grasp of German, Had no lingual problems of note when in the city as most tried to help or could speak English. Quite a walk to main train station, especially if with bags and a bit secluded if walking at night. This is a hotel for the locals, if you want a more cosmopolitan stay, go to Dortmund Central, easier/quicker to get around and much friendlier.
